Guayaquil.- En el marco de las celebraciones julianas, el Municipio de Guayaquil conmemor\u00f3 el 242\u00b0 aniversario del natalicio de Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar con una ofrenda floral ante su monumento ecuestre, ubicado en el centro del Parque Seminario.<\/p>\n
La ceremonia congreg\u00f3 a concejales como Blanca L\u00f3pez, Nelly Pullas, Arturo Escala y Alfredo Bautista; a la Reina de Guayaquil, Jennifer Tutiv\u00e9n; delegaciones estudiantiles de la Academia Naval Almirante Illingworth y ciudadan\u00eda en general.<\/p>\n
Durante el acto, el subbrigadier mayor Luis Daniel Rojas Castro, alumno de dicha instituci\u00f3n educativa, destac\u00f3 el legado del Libertador con una emotiva intervenci\u00f3n:<\/p>\n
\u201cNo luch\u00f3 por la gloria personal, sino por la libertad de los pueblos. Su frase \u2018\u00a1Maldito sea el soldado que vuelva las armas contra su pueblo!\u2019 sigue siendo hoy un s\u00edmbolo de integridad, justicia y patriotismo\u201d<\/p>\n
El evento estuvo acompa\u00f1ado por la Banda Municipal, que interpret\u00f3 el Himno Nacional del Ecuador y el Himno a Guayaquil.<\/p>\n
El monumento ecuestre de Bol\u00edvar, esculpido por Giovanni Anderlini y fundido en bronce, es el segundo m\u00e1s antiguo de la ciudad. Su base de m\u00e1rmol de Carrara fue dise\u00f1ada por el arquitecto Rocco Queirolo.
